The SY21524N is a power management device targeting power backup applications in Solid-State Drive (SSD) or other backup power supplies which require backup energy storage and release functions. The energy is transferred bi-directionally between the BUS side and the energy storage side with high efficiency using a bi-directional DC/DC regulator. Fast transient response and excellent stability are achieved using a quasi-fixed frequency constant off-time control architecture. 

A reverse blocking switch is integrated on the input side to prevent energy from leaking when the input power source is removed. The reverse blocking switch has a programmable current limit function, with a range of 1.2A to 6.2A. Three different BUS over voltage protection (OVP) thresholds are selectable using the OVP pin, to accommodate applications with different operating input voltage levels.

An I2C interface is integrated in SY21524N to enable adjusting a range of application specific parameters, and reduce the number of external components. Control parameters such as input current limit, switching frequency, and boost peak current limit can be programmed using the I2C memory mapped registers.

The SY21524N integrates a capacitance storage measurement block, consisting of an ADC and analog multiplexer. The measurement results are stored in internal read-only data registers and made available to a host MCU using the I2C interface.

The SY21524N is available in a 4 mm x 4mm QFN-25 package.
