The SA59205 uses a 16-bit ADC (Analog to Digital Converter) along with a dedicated analog front-end to enable precise monitoring of current, voltage, and power of a separate rail. Two dedicated address pins, which can set 16 different addresses, enable connecting multiple devices to a host on the same I2C or SMBUS-compatible bus. 

An integrated power accumulator calculates the average power. Programmable calibration values, conversion time, and averaging along with an internal multiplier enable direct current readings in amperes and power readings in watts.

A programmable interrupt function provides a flexible way to alert a host when the voltage, current, or power levels are below or above the configured thresholds. 

The SA59205 can monitor bus voltages that vary from 0V to 36V, independent of the supply voltage. The device is AEC−Q100 Qualified.
