The SA55202 is an 8W mono digital input class D amplifier. A high performance DAC and a class D amplifier are integrated together.

The SA55202 can drive a mono speaker as low as 2Ω. The high efficiency of the device eliminates the need for an external heat sink when playing music.

Full short protections include output short to GND, PVDD, and output-to-output. Short-circuit protection, DC protection and thermal protection include an auto-recovery feature. The device also incorporates load diagnostic circuitry designed for detecting and determining the status of output connections at start-up. It supports the following diagnostics: short to GND, short to PVDD, short load, and open load. The device reports the presence of any of the short or open conditions to the system via I2C and SPK_FAULT pin.

SA55202 is available in a 6mm x 6mm 40-pin QFN package.
