The SQ33058B is a PFC+LLC combo controller; it integrates a PFC controller and resonant half-bridge LLC controller.
PFC converter operates in critical conduction mode (CrM) or discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) to minimize switching losses and improve EMI performance. It uses a proprietary control method to achieve unity power factor (PF) and minimal total harmonic distortion (THD). Burst function increases efficiency at low load, PFC converter operation with reliable protection against output overvoltage (OVP), undervoltage (UVP), and overcurrent (OCP), as well as input brown-out (BO).
The SQ33058B supports two- or three-device parallel operation, enabling interleaved parallel PFC and independent multi-output LLC. It delivers an ultra-thin, high-performance power solution for Mini LED TVs with an output power range of 400 W to 1000 W, significantly simplifying the power supply design and effectively improving overall system performance.
LLC converter adopts integrated charge control to get fast dynamic response and easy loop compensation parameters design, also peripheral cap sense circuit eliminated. The number of external components is significantly reduced, resulting in lower BOM costs.
The SQ33058B ensures safe LLC converter operation with reliable protection against output overvoltage (OVP), overtemperature (OTP), overpower (OPP) and open loop (OLP).
